We’ve all heard the old riddle where the boy in ‘The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn’ is asked, “Where was Moses when the candle went out?” Yes indeed – “In the dark” was the answer. But not so when Irish Power is on the case. Irish Power offers multiple solutions for people who do not want to be left in the dark when the lights go out. Those who are particularly vulnerable when this happens are those who are older, those who live alone in rural areas and people of all ages with special medical requirements.

Recent Irish Power research has shown that for many people, conventional standby power is simply not an affordable option for them, and this has given rise to the development of their latest product they have called ‘The Light That Never Goes Out’. Simply put, ‘The Light That Never Goes Out’ (the name of which was inspired by the phrase coined by the legendary Mayo priest Fr. Joseph Foy), is a power supply unit with a light mounted on it, and which is always left plugged in to the mains in its owner’s house.

When this mains power fails due to a power cut, the unit senses this and immediately turns its own light on, and if left on will stay on literally for days on end, offering great comfort and security for its owner. Production of ‘The Light That Never Goes Out’ has already commenced at the Ballina premises of Irish Power who can be contacted through irishpower.ie, or by simply dialling 0879 430 460. It is hoped that the factory output will be able to ensure that every home will have ‘The Light That Never Goes Out’ on standby just in case of stormy weather.
